Job description:
- As a member of the management team this person must have the ability to work well with a management team involving internal cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Responsible for documentation of processes, systems, internal controls, and reviews against Best Practices for operations, warehousing, distribution, and administration
- Oversee the accounting related to manufacturing in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Manage the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions including monthly financial statement presentation, annual budget preparation,lead thecycle countingandphysical inventories, and coordinating year-end audit activities.
- Responsible for review of transaction and cost accounting accuracy.
- Conduct ongoing auditoftransactional and master records for validity, workflow qualifications and cost impact.
- Provide business analysis, forecasting and budgeting for the manufacturing organization.
- Querying data from SQL databases to improve visibility to data forvarious company stakeholders.
- Responsible for developing and analyzing cost-of-goods information.
- Performing periodic costingstudieson products/equipment.
- Ensure thatproductionWork Orders byproductSKUsare fully burdened withappropriatecostsin compliance with corporate cost model, and the regular investigation,resolutionand reporting of actual-to-standard variances.
- Maintain and make recommendations to improve the system of internal accounting controls as they relate to inventory and manufacturing.
- Responsible for ongoing continuous improvement of accounting and administrative functions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting, CPA preferred but not required.
- 5 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment with specific experiencein cost accounting isrequired.
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment isrequired.
- Proficient inpulling information from SQL databases.Excel-based modeling with strong computer skillsisalsorequired. BI Tools (QlikView, MS Power Query).
- Experience with any of these ERP Systems: SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Visual Mfg., MS Dynamics
