Laser Operator

Reports to the Automation Supervisor, completes assigned work according to work orders and drawings, to the satisfaction of the customer and to the quality standards of NPSG Global.

Responsibilities:.

• First piece, in process, and final inspections.
• 5S, keep work area clean and organized.
• Performs daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance on machines.
• Work within all safety guidelines.
• Cross train on various machines.
• Misc. projects and prototyping.
• Completing all duties as assigned, while making the most efficient use of time, raw materials, and equipment.
• Reading and comprehending shop drawings.
• Working 40 to 50 hour work weeks.
• Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies’ safety regulations.
• Demonstrating fabrication knowledge of:

o Carbon Hot Rolled Steels

o Aluminum

o Stainless Steels

• Working individually with little supervision.
• Working as a team and communicating effectively with management and all employees.

Requirements:

• LEAN manufacturing understanding and knowledge.
• Proficient operating a forklift.
• Ability to read measuring tools including protractor and caliper, Fabrivision and scanning instruments preferred.
• Capable of reading blueprints.
• Comfortable with power tools and manual tools.
• Good attendance and punctuality.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED & Additional equipment certification training is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years CNC experience.
• Minimum of 1-3 years previous experience in a metal fabrication shop working with similar equipment and materials preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, with attention to detail, and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Manufacturing environment with intermittent noise and long periods of standing in a warehouse-type physical space, with exposure to noise and dust in hot and cold climates.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and kneel.
• Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
• Must have good hand and eye coordination.
• Must wear steel-toed shoes.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
