Description
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Site Operations directorate keeps the laboratory running by providing facility management (construction and maintenance), transportation, mail, and food services.
Under direct supervision, Facilities Techs assist with grounds maintenance, recycling, conference room setups, and other general maintenance duties as requested.
This includes minor installations (pictures, white boards, etc.), and minor building repair (doors, locks, walls). Specific day-to-day duties include :
Grounds maintenance such as lawn mowing and weed cutting.
Maintenance work-order requests.
Support for the site recycling program for paper, cans, and cardboard boxes.
Snow removal efforts including participating in the snow on-call program.
Adherence and understanding of all Environmental Safety and Health policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe working environment.
Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree or certification program of comparable scope in maintenance, construction, mechanical or electrical technology, and at least one year of experience or equivalent relevant education / experience.
Intermediate knowledge of activities related to general maintenance. Substantial understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
Ability to follow directions and prioritize work. Basic communication skills. Good team and interpersonal skills.
Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
Additional Required Qualifications
Must be able to lift over 70 pounds on a routine basis.
Must have (or be able to obtain) and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
