JOB SUMMARY:
Overall responsibility for successfully operating, maintaining, and monitoring a fleet of reciprocating engine generators, switchgear, and ancillary equipment owned and operated by NRG Reliability Solutions LLC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day-to-day operations of Reliability Solutions business.
- Sets operational and maintenance priorities by assessing operational objectives, safety, risk of failure, efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation, and environmental compliance responsibilities.
- Manages a dedicated team including field service, maintenance, project support, and billing, providing the necessary support and resources to ensure successful operations and maintenance activities.
- Communicates regularly with Customers and maintains positive customer relationships, a crucial aspect of the role that directly impacts the potential for future sales and the company's reputation.
- Oversees the prompt resolution of equipment alarms and other issues to maximize equipment availability.
- Identifies and implements solutions to recurring operational problems by defining, analyzing, estimating, and screening alternative solutions, calculating economics, and determining impact on the total system.
- Improves future operational reliability and efficiency results by analyzing data trends, anticipating problems, and recommending budget for equipment upgrades as necessary.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Provides regular updates to leadership, including current operational and maintenance activities and issues being resolved.
- Provide annual budget requirements to leadership.
- Manage operating P&L and provide monthly reports on performance to budget.
- Review and update vendor maintenance contracts as needed.
- Review and update generator specifications as needed.
- Updates job knowledge by actively participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and engaging with professional organizations, providing a platform for continuous learning and professional growth.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include but are not limited to, supporting other departments, participating in company-wide initiatives, and assisting with special projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A four-year degree or five years' experience working in one or more aspects of installing, operating, and maintaining electrical generation equipment.
- Must know the principles of electrical power distribution and utility load management applications.
- Must be able to deal effectively with customers and contractors.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter
