Job Summary:
The Product Analyst will be responsible for maintaining existing products across all sales channels, commodities, regions, and systems. They will also play a key role in the development of new and innovative commodity and non-commodity-based products and offerings to support the NRG Sales strategy. The successful candidate will work through cross-functional teams to support the development of the Sales Operations Platform Strategy and ensure that all systems operate with efficiency at key points in the customer life cycle and align with NRG's strategic vision. The analyst will consult with management, subject matter experts, personal knowledge base, and industry best practices to identify and implement solutions to resolve system and process gaps.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participate in cross-functional change initiatives impacting the Sales Operations Platforms
- Support Sales and profitable growth of the Business by recommending product structures for strategic commercial & industrial customers
- Define the product landscape, configuration of new components/costing assumptions, understand contract implications, and ensure complete product fulfillment
- Works collaboratively with management, employees, and project resources to execute prioritized work that is aligned with the overall sales organization initiatives and ensure deadlines are met with the expected level of quality
- Gather feedback from sales teams and other functional leads to identify enhancements; support development of business requirements, testing, and training
- Demonstrate understanding of the Sales Operations Platform Strategy, business processes, and complete suite of products and potential products. Provide post-training support to sales learners as needed
- Work closely with Sales, pricing, costing, IT, business strategy, and other teams to ensure the Sales Operations Platforms, strategy, and projects are aligned with overall sales technology initiatives
- Define gaps in procedures in both current and future states; develop strategies to identify and prepare recommendations for process improvements

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with system/process development focus; experience may be considered instead of a degree
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Ability to influence change across an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with designing, developing, and implementing solutions to growth opportunities and project-based issues
- 2 or more years of retail energy industry experience
- Experience with power and gas commodities
- Understanding of renewables, demand response and other product offers
- Self-directed; comfortable with working with individuals at all organizational levels; effective at managing multiple activities and meeting deadlines
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive understanding of NRG platforms, processes, and products across retail footprint
- Solution oriented and ability to engage cross functional teams to deliver an outcome
- Ability to think critically and to simplify complex issues into actionable resolution steps
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, OneNote and SQL
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about
