Overview
The Claims Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service for personal lines customers throughout the claims process. The claims representative is the first point of contact for all customers making a claim.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Takes First Notice of Loss for all personal lines collector automobile claims and documents all claim information in system
- Notifies carrier of loss.
- Verifies adjuster has been assigned and documents claim number
- Notify client advising of claim number and adjustor assigned to claim
- Assists clients in claim procedure, time frames, and obtaining necessary information and documentation
- Extends courtesy to third parties involved in claim
- Deals promptly and thoroughly with all carrier and client inquiries
- Process daily mail and correspondence for claims. Forwards documentation to carrier upon receipt
- Ensures all carrier claim systems are current
- Escalates issues or concerns to Underwriting Department
- Sets up endorsements, cancellations, or non-renewals as required for losses
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Prior customer service experience required
- Active Property & Casualty license required
- Minimum of 3 years of insurance experience preferred
Technology Skills:
- Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Must possess excellent organization skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance
- Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy
