MS Access Technical Analyst

Terms of Employment

• W2 Contract, 12 Months (Possible Extension)
• This position is hybrid with 3 days onsite in Maywood, IL and 2 days remote.
  • Local candidates only
• This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.

Overview

Our client is seeking an Application Architect to join our Distribution Standards Department, comprised of ~20 engineers. The team is responsible for construction and material standards as well as specification for distribution equipment and system construction.

Responsibilities

The Application Architect should be capable of working independently and interfacing with other stakeholders to perform the following responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of several Access databases.
• Upkeep and development of SharePoint websites, including associated databases.
• Supporting internal team publishing processes, including ensuring specialized internal software is functioning properly.
• Provide guidance on workstation issues that arise within the department, including onboarding new employees with department-specific software as well as 3D modeling software (e.g. AutoCAD)
• Develop and maintain visualization dashboards (e.g. Power BI) that pull information from internal sources and support data analysis for internal use, presentations, and team requests.
• Setup virtual machines to develop and send reports automatically.
• Development and maintenance of new and existing apps for internal use.
• Interface with other groups to reach solutions.
• Work with the end user to define requirements and translate those requirements into solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of IT experience.
• Skilled in Microsoft Access database development / management.
• Skilled in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Skilled creating dashboards and visualizations in a business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following:
  • DB2
  • JCL
  • Oracle
  • PL/SQL
  • Unix scripting
  • Visual Basic
  • PowerApps
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
• Detail oriented.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Bachelors preferred but can be flexible for the right candidate.
