Overview
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst II to provide business function support for the Smart Grid Operations department. As a Business Analyst, you will develop processes to satisfy the needs and requirements of a diverse financial group that utilize a variety of O&M, Capital and/or balance sheet and clearing accounts.
The Smart Grid Operations department is responsible for ensuring the on-time and accurate readings for the 2-million-meter population through:
- Analyzing meter read and malfunction issues to initiate and track appropriate follow up action.
- Coordinating with internal teams to perform data corrections.
- Fielding inquiries from various stakeholders to remediate metering issues.
- Supporting testing of system upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Running routine reports in support of daily operations.
- Monitoring of data related to assets installed in field and any failures related to data synchronization. This will require manual verification in front end as well as querying back-end databases.
- Perform Quality Assurance across the work done and apply checks as required.
- Data analysis using various tools such as Excel, Power BI, Access, SQL Developer.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or an Associates degree and 3-5 years experience in preparing project estimates in the electric and gas utility industry using software and or estimating manuals to expedite estimating preparation process.
- Advanced investigatory methods to analyze multi-faceted issues.
- Expert knowledge of MS Excel, being able to use as a functional tool and manipulate data within including:
- Pivot tables, charting, formulas, VLOOKUP’s, index matches.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Access and SQL Developer.
- Functional knowledge of PowerBI.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with systems: UIQ, MDM, CC&B and AS8.
- Functional understanding of devices (electric meters, gas modules, network devices, etc.) that compose the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) network.
