How You’ll Add Value
The Vice President, Client Success will be responsible for the overall success of the sales team within their respective portfolio of clients. This individual will place a high priority on developing and nurturing a culture of sales excellence and successfully motivating team members to achieve organizational goals. S/he will lead a team of tenured and experienced sales professionals focused on building strong relationships and delivering quality client experiences as well as driving revenue and profitability growth. This person will provide leadership, inspiration for outstanding sales performance, and the ongoing development of the sales team through continuous coaching strategies.
The Vice President, Client Success will also work closely with the Business Development team in leading the strategic planning and execution of client services, assess and manage the risk associated with client relationships, and identify new account and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the event business, from trade shows to live events to experiential marketing.
How You'll Get It Done
- Drive business results in the areas of revenue growth rate, cost of sale, client relationships/business development, and development of sales team members
- Manage 16 direct reports and oversee a broader team of 11 additional sales professionals focused on managing, retaining, and growing customer relationships
- Create strategies to grow Nth Degree business and establish performance goals and measurements for the sales team to track their success and identify issues that may arise early in the process
- Achieve sales volume targets in alignment with company’s goals and objectives; adjust and make sales targets consistently clear, visible, and measurable with appropriate activity-based KPIs
- Motivate and develop sales team by assessing current capability, identifying areas for development, creating action plans, and providing training, coaching, and feedback for continuous improvement
- Take the lead in understanding the existing customer base, new clients, and the company's processes through CRM
- Research and explore the competitive environment at major accounts and predict competitive responses
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion both in existing and new client base
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to review and strategize sales team goals to continue to make sure they are in line with company goals

What You’re Bringing with You
- 5 years of senior sales management experience, managing a field team of 10
- Sales strategy; financial, profitable growth, sales planning, sales methodology; able to maintain good balance of strategic vision and tactical execution
- Ability to quickly develop in-depth and working knowledge of the team, clients, and future business
- Strong analytical skills to identify team trends and patterns to drive results; ability to define the sales cycle and manage pipeline activity
- Documented experience selling to senior level executives and teams (solution selling), excellent presentation skills (C-Suite and Board communication), strong & effective communicator - ability to connect and influence others
- Management and responsibility of $50 million in revenue; P&L responsibility is a plus
- Superior coaching skills and experience developing sales teams with a proven track record of success. Experience managing remote workforce
- Ability to inspire and motivate, influence through asserting ideas and persuasion, builds trust and strong working relationships, gains commitment and support, mobilizes people to action, uses creative approaches to motivate others to meet business goals
- Situational management skills; Innovative and creative problem solver, handle tough situations independently, overcome conflict, work through high level customer situations, engage with the Board of Directors
- Experience with sales technology; ability to identify and deploy technology which brings efficient and effective process to the sales organization, solution for tracking salespeople activity. Salesforce experience strongly desired
- Industry experience is beneficial, specifically trade show or event planning sales and/or sales management, marketing services
- Global Experience is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Education
A four-year undergraduate degree in a related field (i.e. business, marketing, engineering, management, etc.) is required
