We are currently seeking a Junior Web Application Scanning Analyst to join our team in Arlington, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
NTT DATA is currently seeking to hire a
Junior Web Application Scanning Analyst to support a Cyber Hygiene project. The Web Application Scanning (WAS) team assesses the "health" of publicly accessible web applications by checking for known vulnerabilities and weak configurations and offers recommendations for enhancing security in accordance with industry and government best practices and standards.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining service queues and process documentation, monitoring report generation and delivery, providing recommendations for service enhancements, and assisting with other requested deliverables
- Writing daily, weekly and monthly status reporting
- Researching solutions and tools that would provide an efficient, streamlined, and scalable approach while maintaining a high quality of service
- Communicating with customers in response to inquiries about scan results
Key skill sets include, but are not limited to:
- An understanding of cybersecurity information technology, security applications, and networking basics
- Technical writing skills and an analytical mindset
- Experience using JIRA or another ticketing system to track task status
- Experience with web application scanning or vulnerability scanning software tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical findings
- Experience with transforming raw data from tool outputs (i.e. raw scan results) and transforming it into customer-ready information
- Ability to research and dissect vulnerability findings, and form a high-level mitigation strategy
- Familiarity with the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with web application scanning or vulnerability scanning software tools
- Minimum 2 years of experience with transforming raw data from tool outputs (i.e. raw scan results) and transforming it into customer-ready information
- Minimum 2 years of experience with MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Suitability Determination
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Qualifications, optional:
- Experience with Qualys
- A strong candidate will possess experience in web application development, use of various web application frameworks, familiarity using commercial penetration testing tools and knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities
