Role Summary

NTT Global Networks is seeking a RF Systems Engineer to work with our Product Engineering group on product evaluation, develop design guidelines and assist with productizing our Private 5G/LTE Network service offering.  Including working on multiple projects with enterprise clients in different vertical industries supporting private wireless network system integration projects (including 5G/ LTE, IoT/LPWA and Wi-Fi), and working on systems design and integration projects supporting including RF Design (RFDS), RF Optimization and Performance and Customer System Implementation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Site Surveys, Coverage Design and plan wireless propagation modeling and prediction.
  • Perform RF planning, optimization design and build for in-building and outdoor network deployments
  • Perform RF Database/Parameter Review and Audit, including optimization plans.
  • Conduct performance and tuning and optimization of 5G/LTE/LPWA IoT/Wi-Fi wireless network to reduce interference, and compliance to CBRS SAS requirements.
  • Submit SLA KPI’s to the customer and justify the performance of the network.
  • Perform RAN level statistical analysis and performance management.
  • Maintain Networks KPI’s on targets such as dropped calls, call success rates and packet switched network throughput and reliability
  • Initial RF Design, Optimization and Commissioning of new sites/ NodeB’s.
  • Perform RF Network Performance analysis, Throughput and Congestion KPI analysis and take appropriate actions.
  • Monitor and benchmarking RAN/NodeB upgrade/patch implementation.
  • Responsible primarily for the research, development, hands-on integration and evaluation of early-stage Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN) related infrastructure and products.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Product Development organizations, vendors, and standards and policy organizations.
  • Drive proof of concept solution creation with main focus on the wireless access systems and next generation e2e applications.
  • Developing dashboards and data visualizations that will provide insight into network performance that can be shared with executives, peer groups and tools that are implemented in customer portals


Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent program).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on Hands-on experience with RF planning and RF optimization on large wireless access network.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry standard propagation tools: Infovista Planet & ATOLL
  • Excellent knowledge of 3GPP: LTE/UMTS/HSPA/LPWA radio access network design, optimization and capacity engineering
  • Experience with Self Optimizing Network (SON) deployments and operations.
  • Background in Antenna Design, MIMO, mMIMO, and beam forming algorithm
  • Strong fundamental understanding of Rayleigh, Ricean, Nakagami and Weibull distributions along with experience on diversity and combining schemes.
  • Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and strong customer-service orientations.
  • Operational experience of RF Design focusing on traffic engineering and coverage design.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in setup and configuration of LTE networks (RAN and Core) with a major equipment vendors and service providers.
  • Able to lead troubleshooting field issues and guide others in debugging field problems.
  • Thorough hands-on knowledge of LTE small cells, CBRS FW, mMIMO and familiar with 5G architecture, with a clear track record of excellence managing wireless access engineering systems.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with UE acceptance criteria and SIM development.
  • Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and a strong customer-service orientation.
  • IP knowledge preferred – VLANs, subnets, etc.

  • Willingness and ability to conduct and attend meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff and vendors
  • Previous experience working with/presenting to an executive audience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required

 

Estimated Salary Range: $100K - $120K
