We are currently seeking a talented and motivated UX Researcher for a Full-Time Remote position.
You’ll collaborate with our client to establish and integrate a user research strategy into the development cycle for their digital properties. You’ll conduct evaluative user research to produce insights and recommendations for optimizing the current customer experience, and you’ll also educate the client’s teams about customer behavior and mindsets. Through generative research, your insights will support those teams in introducing new and innovative features that will drive the modernization of the department’s websites.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop a foundational user research strategy and high-level activity roadmap that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals
- Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize research opportunities
- Execute qualitative research, such as moderated usability testing, expert reviews, and interviews; and quantitative research, such as surveys, card sorts, and tree tests
- Report findings from generative and evaluative research and provide actionable recommendations to support the teams in improving their current website(s) and introducing new features
- Analyze and report findings and recommendations from the website’s current customer surveys
- Conduct workshops to educate client teams about UX research
- Assist with content maintenance and other work as needed
Requirements
- A portfolio or work sample demonstrating your UX research skills
- 2 years of experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., usability studies, interviews, and surveys), and knowing when (e.g., ideation, discovery, and product development) and how to apply research results during the design process
- Proficiency in communicating user research findings to cross-functional partners to drive impact.
- Ability to navigate cross-functional teams to plan and execute research in a collaborative nature and to report to all levels in the organization
- Knowledge of best practices in user interface design and the ability to make research-based design recommendations
- Expertise with presentation, prototyping, and design collaboration tools
- Experience working in an Agile UX design environment
- Prior experience working with the federal government is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders to enable buy-in for research
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility in the face of shifting client priorities and requirements
