What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Project Manager position at NuAxis?
The Deputy Project Manager must have a demonstrated ability in leading a multi-faceted project preferably for a federal customer. The Deputy Project Manager is an integral part of the team, who will be responsible for setting deadlines, leading, and directing work to staff, and service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and experience coordinating the efforts of 15 or more staff/stakeholders.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple technical projects across functional areas and providing technical insights and expertise to staff and across the contract
- Oversee a staff working in multiple projects
- Serve as the primary technical and management point of contact for government stakeholders
- Adopt a coordinated and cost cutting program that will allow knowledge transfer of current efforts across a federal department
- Provide Project Management in accordance with the Project Management Institute (PMI) industry standard methodology and project management processes and knowledge areas.
- Provide support for data analysis and analytics, metrics, executive and management briefings, audits, and meeting minutes
- Develop an in-depth understanding of a purchase card program to document new and update existing briefing materials, user guides and training documents
- Improve customer service; ensure full utilization of new tools and services to streamline processes such as:
- Training services including system and policy training.
- More efficient business and payment processes.
- Improved compliance with regulatory and DOI guidance
- Making the most efficient use of information technology
Minimum Requirements:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from Project Management Institute
- Demonstrated expertise in establishment and management of a Program Management Office (PMO)
- Experience in large scale complex projects in multi-functional government organizations
- Experience in managing projects using the PPM module of ServiceNow
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
- Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule
- As directed by the Government, plan, design, implement, test and deploy new enterprise systems and applications and upgrades to existing systems and applications.
- Ensure designs are interoperable with the enterprise architecture, other business applications, and the existing infrastructure environment.
- Assist the Government in defining enterprise architecture standards and work collaboratively with the Government to develop technology road maps for enterprise systems and operating environments.
- Provide system improvement recommendations for system operations to ensure reliability, performance, capacity, security and optimal resource utilization.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, other related scientific, technical, or functional discipline.
Experience:
8 years of relevant experience including at least 8 years specialized work in project development from inception to deployment, expertise in the management and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms or demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts.
