Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Quality Management Systems (QMS) Supervisor. This teammate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of all quality and customer related certifications including, but not limited to, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ASTM, ABS, JIS, and CE Mark, facilitating collaboration throughout the entire facility, including contractors and vendors, to drive quality improvements in the best interest of the division and the enterprise. The QMS Supervisor will work cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, and Operations teams to address certification requirements and product needs, coordinate and conduct audits and applicable training, long term strategic planning to set quality goals aligned with the overall vision and strategy of the division through interdepartmental collaboration, be responsible for keeping accurate and legible records regarding the quality related portion of the Integrated Management System. The QMS Supervisor will be a positive problem solver, who leads by example and capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively. The QMS Supervisor will show a commitment to fairness, continual improvement, cost awareness and control, and innovation.
Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2026. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years of (QMS) Leadership Experience
- Familiarity with the IATF 1694 standard and its application in the automotive sector
- Thorough Understanding of MSA Studies, FMEA, and related core tools
