SUMMARY
The IT Manager is accountable for overseeing IT associates, IT systems and infrastructure, including knowledge of networking, hardware, and software while providing day to day leadership of this department. This position is responsible for effectively overseeing technology operations within an organization, managing technology assets of the company ensuring they are current, secure, and available while meeting the business needs of Nucraft.
The position is also responsible for the creation and implementation of policies and procedures designed to assist the company in developing and implementing best-in-class technology strategies to support business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Deliverables)
Responsibilities:
- Manage the IT staff – ERP Developers, ERP Administrator, a managed service provider (MSP) – to achieve corporate goals. Assess team members to skills required for IT roles and create development plans by providing regular feedback and monitor employee performance against job requirements, metrics, and company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends to maintain the organization's competitive edge and optimize IT resources effectively to support the company’s strategic and tactical priorities.
- Effectively communicate as liaison between technical staff and non-technical stakeholders to align IT strategies with business goals.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software infrastructure ensuring it is reliable, secure, and scalable to support business and operational needs.
- Develop and implement IT strategies and policies that support company objectives.
Implement, monitor and enforce security measures to protect company data and systems from internal and external threats, unauthorized access, and breaches.
- Ensure the Epicor ERP system remains viable and accessible in the case of loss or disaster.
- Build and implement plans to ensure that information technology assets are current, protected and recoverable in the case of loss or disaster such as but not limited to infrastructure failures/outages, hardware repair/requests/replacement, software upgrades
- Manage the telecommunications systems and related activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to IT and business/operational needs.
- Develop and manage annual IT operating and capital budgets.
- Identify, propose and implement opportunities to leverage information technology to drive competitive advantage and/or operational efficiencies.
- Lead and/or project manage large corporate initiatives relating to IT/technology and/or provide consultative services regarding technology and technology advancements in support of strategic or tactical direction and projects.
- Steep understanding of business processes with an ability to understand stakeholders’ current condition to identify and analyze current operational challenges, obstacles, and/or problems.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address business challenges using technology.
- Understanding data input and output requirements, how data is to be aggregated, and formats for reports. Capture requirements of customer needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer systems.
- Evaluates effectiveness of existing systems and develops new systems to improve business processes.
- Plan and prepare technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.
- Develop and implement KPIs (measurements) to show status of the Information Technology team.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective and efficient procurement of IT solutions and services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts as necessary
- Develops and provides both formal and informal technical training to associates.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise the Information Technology team including assignment of routine and project-related activities, evaluating performance, supporting on-going skills development, and providing hands-on leadership. Supervision and management of a managed service provider (MSP).

Education and/or Experience
- Four-year degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. An advanced degree or positive progress towards an advanced degree would be a plus.
- Three to five years of experience leading a technology team in a manufacturing organization along with five to ten years’ experience working in an information technology role.
- Experience interfacing with the ERP SaaS environment, and ability to navigate the Microsoft environment (MS 365, Active Directory, Power Platform, PowerBI, SharePoint) is a plus.
- Experience with PLM/PDM (Product Lifecycle Management/Product Data Management) would be preferred. Prefer experience in contract furniture manufacturing but not required.
Language Skills
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, including the ability to probe and question in such a manner as to elicit the true requirements of the customer without causing undue aggravation. Must be able to communicate complex technological concepts to non-technical individuals.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to clearly and concisely delineate processes and flows in order to meet and exceed customer and departmental requirements. Must be able to efficiently break down complex structures and processes into discrete and understandable parts. Must be able to understand the flow of data through the system and correlate that with the flow of product and product documentation through the company.

The work environment will be an office environment with the requirement to travel to production areas on a regular basis. Must be able to perform and excel in a team environment.
