Based in Alsip, IL our Supply Chain team is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Director of Logistics to lead the team and processes to ensure cost efficient, high quality and customer focused delivery of products across North America.

What will you be doing?

Developing and executing the overall logistics strategy for the NA business.
Managing the external (3PL) logistics partners.
Managing the bulk and rail fleet management programs and related contracts.
Leading the team and the processes to ensure cost-efficient, high-quality, and customer-focused delivery of products across North America.
Leading, mentoring, and developing the members of the logistics team.
Managing the logistics spend and controlling expenditures to budgeted levels; identifying and implementing the necessary actions to drive cost improvement.
Partnering with sales & marketing, driving service-level metrics and implementing actions to raise quality and service standards to exceed customer expectations and achieve “best in class” operations.
Managing the end-to-end logistics strategy.
Identifying gaps in the supply operations capability; proposing and executing solutions.
Monitoring and controlling suppliers to confirm services meet agreed-upon levels and to ensure the company is getting the best value (cost, quality, service, and alignment).
Evaluating, negotiating, and executing agreements with new suppliers, ensuring consistency with the company standards and needs.

What do you bring?

15 years of experience in supply chain, logistics & transportation is mandatory; experience in either the chemical industry or agribusiness is desirable but not mandatory.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of leading team members.

Familiarity with a range of process improvement, business analysis, and project methodologies

Familiarity with moving raw materials and finished products between countries, especially between Canada and the US

Experience in Identifying and mitigating risks associated with inventory management and S&OP processes.

A certification in Six Sigma, APICS is highly desirable but not mandatory.
