Position Summary:
As an integral member of our team, the IT/OT Systems Engineer II will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining the technological framework driving our technology processes. This multidisciplined and highly technical position calls for a unique blend of expertise in both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Systems Architecture & Design
Design and implement scalable and resilient IT systems that meet the unique needs of our energy/biotech projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure the integration of IT and OT systems for optimal performance.
Network Infrastructure
Manage and optimize the company's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and good cybersecurity practices.
- Implement and maintain communication protocols between IT and OT systems, ensuring seamless data flow.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with other engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to integrate IT/OT systems into overall project frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Monitoring and Maintenance
Establish monitoring protocols for IT systems to proactively identify and address issues.
Support Nusano’s global OT observability platform (Grafana)
- Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure the reliability and performance of systems.
Documentation
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT/OT interfaces, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures related to IT/OT systems.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 8 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT networks for a biotechnology and/or energy company.
- Proficiency in network security, firewall administration, and intrusion detection systems.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of networking and systems integration.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Familiarity with OT network principles
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial control systems, and PLCs.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working in a facility that produces radiation.
- Work to be conducted in both an office environment and the production facility.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Frequent use of computer with repetitive use of keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity
