Fall Intern- Internal Audit

Job Description: ** This position will require around 10 hours of in office work along with another 5-10 hours of working remotely*** The Internal Audit Intern will support NuStar’s business objectives by assisting the Internal Audit Department’s goal of providing independent assurance that the organization's risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. The Internal Audit Intern will assist in updating business process documentation and perform tests of controls (financial and technology general controls) in conjunction with the company’s annual assessment of internal controls over financial reporting. The Internal Audit Intern will assist in other various projects as assigned through the annual audit plan process. Understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and theories, and ability to analyze their application in the Company’s accounting records. A high degree of initiative and creativity is required since each audit test requires a different approach. Microsoft experience preferred with proficiency in Word and Excel. Candidate must have initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and well-developed organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed to interact with internal and external contacts. Strong understanding of information system processes and controls a plus. Requirements: Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, junior level or above required. Candidates currently pursuing a Graduate degree in Accounting are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed courses in Audit, Intermediate Accounting, and Accounting Information Systems. Overall GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Must have lawful unlimited authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
