This position reports directly to the Shift Team Supervisor.
This position is located in (Lima, OH, USA) and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Operate plant equipment and associated systems within safe operating conditions/limits and in compliance with environmental permit limits
- Monitor the process operation and equipment by making routine rounds to check equipment, taking process data readings, obtaining samples of various process streams, and performing basic laboratory analyses
- Respond to and appropriately address process and equipment upsets
- Identify operating problems and recommend actions to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality, mechanical, or safe operation of plant and equipment
- Assist with startup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment, initially from various field roles; however, eventually progressing to board qualification
- Maintain a clean work environment free from hazards
Skills:
- Mechanical/process troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Commitment to working in a highly safety-conscious environment and complying with plant safety standards
- Ability to read, understand, and apply operating procedures and shift orders
- Ability to use computers for job functions and training
- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Have a continuous improvement mindset, never satisfied with the status quo
- Willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that includes days/nights, every other weekend, and some holidays
- Willingness to occasionally work overtime
- Must be an effective communicator, such as key process and equipment conditions during the shift and at shift handover
- Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, as well as occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
What you will bring:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Must pass a series of tests including mechanical aptitude, mathematics and reading comprehension testing
- Prior experience in an industrial setting is desirable but not required
