The Electrical Supervisor will report to the Electrical & Shaft General Foreman.
This position is located in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Oversee and coordinate the electrical crew in the maintenance and repair of all underground electrical services
- Supervise, instruct, correct, and inspect the work and assignments of crew members
- Ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to
- Recommend changes in maintenance routines, in operating routines, and in equipment to reduce operating down time and maintenance costs
- Requisition all materials, supplies, and equipment required by the electrical crew, in conjunction with the Maintenance Planners
- Ensure that all changes and additions in electrical systems are properly recorded on schematic drawings, and that all required reports are prepared in a proper and timely manner
- Analyze all underground electrical problems and report problems of a non-routine nature
- Provide a safe workplace by ensuring all site policies and procedures are stringently adhered to
- Work with the training department to ensure crew members’ training is completed
What you will bring:
- A Journeyperson Certificate in the Electrical trade or an Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma
- Saskatchewan Supervisory Certificate from the Saskatchewan Department of Labour, or ability to obtain one
- Training and several years of experience in underground potash operations and electrical services
- Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership; demonstrated a high level of commitment to creating a safe working environment
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach and correct performance where needed
- Superior interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential
- Excellent computer skills are required, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
