Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Litigation & Risk, in the Legal Department, at the headquarters office for Nutrien Retail, provides primary support to manage claims and litigation related matters. This position is located in Loveland, Colorado, US.
What You Will Do
$55,440 - $76,230 USD. This range is estimated for a Coordinator, Legal Claims & Risk in Loveland, CO. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location . Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Litigation & Risk, in the Legal Department, at the headquarters office for Nutrien Retail, provides primary support to manage claims and litigation related matters. This position is located in Loveland, Colorado, US.
What You Will Do
- Care for the claims email inbox on a daily basis. Review new claims received to determine whether the claims will be self-administered, provided to an adjuster/broker to manage, or if subrogation should be pursued. Based on assessment provide the claim to the proper party to handle
- Claims handling: Management of low value crop claims, property claims and general liability claims, and auto claims
- Draft, review and assist in negotiation of Release and Settlement Agreements. Work with various stakeholders to secure approvals, finalize agreements and process the settlement funds, including any disbursements from suppliers
- Draft professional correspondence to the business, customers, insurance agents, opposing counsel and others related to claims in an effort to negotiate, provide a denial, tender or settlement claims
- Prepare subrogation packages
- Assist with administration of legal matters in OnIt legal e-billing system
- Provide claims reports to various business units monthly and upon request
- Review, gather documents and respond to low-risk Subpoenas
- Assist Insurance Department with yearly policy reviews and renewals by preparing reports and claim or litigation related details
- Assist Claims and Risk Advisor in administration of Riskonnect software and develop electronic files for all claims within Riskonnect. Ensure that other software properly integrates with Riskonnect, as needed, to ensure accurate information is being received
- Assist in drafting and maintain procedures and forms to ensure direction and FAQ’s are accurate and updated for business ease in reporting claims
- Review Canadian provincial insurer packets quarterly and annually to determine if claims have been submitted that the Legal Department is not aware and ensure there are no outstanding liabilities. With outstanding liabilities follow-up with business and track claim until closed
- Attend meetings and assist in providing training for the business on claims processes and legal compliance
- Obtaining Financial Responsibility Verifications following auto accidents to ensure driver’s license is not affected by an accident
- Assist with various claims and litigation matters and projects
- Experience in a legal, litigation, and/or claims environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team member
- Self-motivated, results oriented, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written communication
- Ability to recognize when claim issues that need to be elevated
- Provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries
- Demonstrates negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate professionally, in person, in writing or by telephone
- Proficient in MS Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Workshare Compare, Outlook and Legal File Management Systems. Knowledge of MS SharePoint a plus
- High proficiency in reading comprehension of legal terms and conditions
- Legal writing skills
