Reporting to the Manager, Location, this position is responsible to oversee the location business operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability, while supporting and expanding a customer base within a designated market area by being responsible for the following:
What will you do:
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments
- Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning
- Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives
- Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed
- Provides leadership, direction, guidance, and support to Packaging supervisors and personnel. Develops positive, motivating, and efficient communication with all employees.
- Maximizes the profitability of the packaging with efficient use of raw materials, productive use of available labor and control of overhead costs.
- Translate packaging requirements into daily work schedule and direct staff in various departments in the execution of the work in accordance with GMP and SOP requirements.
- Ensures the manufacturing and packaging of quality product while maintaining a safe and motivated workforce.
- Manages line efficiencies, key performance indicators and production downtime.
- Liaise with internal and external departments such as Maintenance, Quality, Finance, Engineering, etc., on various packaging related initiatives.
- Effectively uses daily production information to track costs, measure trends, and communicate results, positively reinforce success, and initiate corrective action when appropriate.
- Ensures the Company's quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with Quality, full participation in the HACCP and BRC programs, as well as frequent review and implementation of Company and Government Policies.
- Troubleshoots and leads problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of effective functional and cross-functional teams and on-the-floor leadership to effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement.
- Managing the daily operations of the plant
- Assuring compliance with legal regulations
- Analyzing and controlling costs and budgetary restrictions
- Optimizing machinery and equipment with regular maintenance programs
- Manage inventory quantity and quality to ensure location will meet sales commitments
- Manage business operations, including SH&E programs, inventory audits, retail audits, and asset reviews
- Responsible for aspects of human resource management within the branch including hiring, promoting, training and development, performance management, coaching, and discharging within company policy and regulatory compliance
- Assist in preparing the business plan, product forecasts, operating budget, and targets
- Utilize and leverage available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently
- Lead and perform work the Nutrien Way - engaging in corporate, policies, programs and practices, including SH&E regulations and standards, to bring our Culture of Care to life
- Perform other related duties, as required
What will you bring:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 years' experience in sales or marketing management in Ag related area, including 2 years in a supervisory/leadership position
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience, which result in the required level of knowledge, competencies, skills, and abilities, may be considered
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn, teach and share information with teammates, peers, and management
- Self-starter with good communication skills, highly motivated, and organized
- Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
