Reporting to the SVP, Retail Finance, the Sr. Director, Global Retail FP&A & Capital Management will oversee the development and evaluation of consolidated long range strategic plans, as well as the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for Nutrien’s Global Retail business unit. At Nutrien, we are continually striving to provide data driven financial analytics to inform business decisions and capital allocation with an objective of improving earnings quality and driving shareholder value. This role will be accountable for leading initiatives to improve processes and drive faster, insightful decision support and management reporting. In addition, this role will have oversight for Global Retail capital allocation, including developing capital plans, evaluating investment business cases, and measuring overall capital efficiency.
What You Will Do
$172,000 - $236,500. This range is estimated for Sr Dir, Finance, Global Retail FP&A &Cap

What You Will Do
- Own the global consolidated Retail budgeting and forecasting processes, including creation of the strategic 5-year plan, as well as the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Oversee the setting of corporate financial targets and key performance indicators, as well as quarterly performance evaluation
- Provide data-driven management reporting to inform strategic planning and investment decisions
- Cultivate finance and business outcomes through efficient allocations of capital with data driven insights
- Lead process initiatives to improve and automate forecasting and financial management reporting
- Perform look-back reviews to assess financial returns of capital investments relative to approved business cases
- Monitor and assess overall capital efficiency, including sustaining, investing, and working capital
- Oversight and coordination of capital governance processes to support Retail capital allocation decisions
- As a leader, foster positive engagement through clarity, experience, impact, and recognition
- Communicate and deliver key messages to executive and senior leadership teams, Board of Directors and other business leaders
- Collaborate and reach alignment with peers and business partners across the Retail organization
- Develop a high-performing team, aligned with the strategic priorities, company core values, and functional goals of the business
- Provide effective support and feedback to team members, while also facilitating performance development through setting team goals, evaluating progress, and identifying areas for training or skill development
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- A professional accounting or finance designation (CPA/CFA/MBA)
- Minimum of fifteen years of related accounting or financial experience, with at least 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in a large multi-national company
- Previous experience working on large, highly complex projects with significant business impact
- Experience using business analytics to problem solve data-driven questions
- Excellent financial systems acumen and information technology mindset
- Ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally, balancing the requirements of the Corporate office and Retail business unit
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
- The ability to develop relationships and interface with various levels of administration in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment
- Thorough organizational skills with the ability to prioritize concurrent projects and deliverables
- Exceptional guidance and interpersonal skills that facilitate a positive team environment
- Deep understanding of the Retail Ag industry business drivers and operating activities considered an asset
