Quality Assurance (QA) Manager

Job Summary

Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of NutriQuest feed products and our Feed Ingredient suppliers and through risk management, audit and corrective action, sampling of materials, review/monitoring of critical information, and adherence to specifications, procedures and standards along with the development and implementation of a robust Quality management system.

Essential Functions

• Develop, implement, and manage NutriQuest’s food safety plan and food safety records.
• Develop and maintain NutriQuest’s quality management systems, quality manual and quality records.
• Responsible for defining quality objectives which includes the program, record analysis and manage distribution.
• Implement and monitor product specifications for NutriQuest products
• Coordinate and communicate with Innovation team to identify quality control actions and measures required and which may be on the critical path to launch success
• Arrange, coordinate, and execute external quality audits.
• Coordinate and lead the team during recall initiatives if the need arises.
• Follow-up with manufacturers of our products related to feed quality.
• Responsible for hazard analysis for imported products and determination regarding need for controls along with who is responsible for controlling.
• Monitor Compliance and Regulatory updates to advise and update necessary policies and processes.
• Monitor programs, import alerts, warning letters and recalls on imports and foreign suppliers, including amino acids
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in, Animal Science, or related scientific discipline or minimum of five (5) years QA experience required
• Certified in HAACP, trained PCQI and knowledge of auditing practices.  Auditing certification/training preferred
• Practical experience working as a QA supervisor with the animal feed, animal health or similar industry with international experience preferred

• Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Communication skills including verbal, written, and listening.
• Continuous improvement, making sure we challenge the way things are done and always strive to make them better.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
