What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Service Technician position at NW Boiler Inc.?
NW Boiler Inc. is a family owned and operated business in WA,OR, CA, ID and AK. We are currently seeking a Boiler Technician to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform boiler installations, repairs, maintenance, and repairs.
- Install new equipment and repair existing equipment.
- Repair boilers, heat exchangers, fireboxes, boilers, and other related equipment.
- Inspect boilers for leaks or other defects.
- Maintain records of work orders and repairs performed.
- Perform boiler maintenance on the plant including but not limited to water tests, boiler pressure testing, boiler temperature testing, air testing, air/steam quality testing, firebox heaters, etc.
- Perform boiler troubleshooting including but not limited to pressure tests, water tests, firebox heat tests and other related equipment problems.
- Maintain records of all plant equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have some experience in the field of industrial boilers with experience in the installation of new boilers and new equipment. The candidate will have some knowledge of industrial boilers with experience in fire-tube boilers or fluid bed boilers. The candidate will have some knowledge of steam plant or water-cooled heat exchangers. The candidate will have some knowledge of steam-in-place or sheet metal construction or other related experience such as welding or military training is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision and perform all duties in a safe manner according to company safety policy. The successful candidate will be able to read blueprints and make decisions based on information provided by management regarding the safety of the job site and the job itself. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis while working on the job site and occasionally carry up to 100 pounds up into the plant as needed according to company safety policy. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with occasional overtime and weekend work.
