The Northwest Innovation Resource Center (NWIRC) supports innovative entrepreneurs in the rapidly growing areas north of Seattle. We are looking for a key leader to help the organization continue to grow and increase our impact across the region. We are a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2011 with a successful record providing a variety of resources for startup and early-stage companies across Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan Counties. This is an exciting role with the opportunity to have a significant impact on the founding and growth of new businesses thereby increasing economic growth and job opportunities across the region.

We are seeking an experienced Director, Entrepreneurial Services (DES) to support our existing programs and assist in the creation of new ones. The role is a combination of marketing, business development, and client services, and plays a vital role in development and execution of strategies and activities to support entrepreneurs. This includes identifying recruiting, coaching and supporting entrepreneurs, as well as assisting the Executive Director with engaging with strategic partners in government, private sector, educational and other organizations that provide similar services.

Responsibilities include all aspects of:

• Entrepreneur Outreach:
• Implementation of programs and events established to identify and engage entrepreneurs
• Creating general awareness for NWIRC and driving demand for utilization of various resources including innovation centers such as TheLab@everett.

· Entrepreneur Support Activities:

o Leading intake and coordination of evaluation for client services

• Coordination and management all aspects of program services for client
• Providing client advice and coaching as required
• Maintaining records and databases necessary to meet requirements for funding and continuing service
• Events and activities:
• Creating strategies and leading activities to support entrepreneurs, including activities like Bluetech/Cleantech Innovation Cohort.
• Mentors and Expert Services Process:
• Identifying and recruiting potential mentors and leading orientation and communications with them
• Identifying field specific experts as required for client support
• Client Funding Support:
• In coordination with Executive Director, identifying investment options available for entrepreneurs and educating them on how to secure investment
• Provide awareness of NWIRC and its entrepreneurs to funding sources, including governments, investors and companies across the region and the country
• Networking, Marketing, and Promotions:
• Representing NWIRC in the community as required
• Maintain strategic partnerships with partners to effectively utilize their resources

Skills needed:

• Entrepreneur and business startup advising
• Business development and partner engagement
• Public relations/customer service skills
• Executive level communication skills, including presentation skills

Location: Flexible, but preferably in the Snohomish County or Bellingham areas

Compensation range: $70,000 – $85,000 depending on experience
