LOCATION: Forest Grove, OR
SALARY: $94-$97k annually
SCHEDULE: Direct Hire | Full-time
INDUSTRY: Chemical Manufacturing
THE ROLE
The Sn. EHS Specialist plays an active role in maintaining compliance with chemical processes and safety management while encouraging an incident and injury-free work environment. The EHS specialist identifies and anticipates health, safety, and environmental hazards, and implements solutions. They are responsible for reviewing and approving work permits, assisting with safety orientation and training, managing open audit recommendations along with all other safety and EHS duties as needed.
SKILLS AND MUST-HAVES
- Experience with process safety and investigative techniques for root cause analysis
- Knowledge in the requirements of Control of Hazardous Energies (LO/TO), Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Risk Assessments, and procedure reviews.
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119, PSM standard, PSM experience.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO 14001, 9001, and 45001.
- Experience with Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans
- Conduct chemical safety, hazardous waste, EHS training
- Reviews and approves work permits
- Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, chemical or environmental engineering.
- 3-5 year’s experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with EHS/safety responsibilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
