Warehouse Department Supervisor
Fungyun LLC. is seeking experienced full-time Warehouse Department Supervisor for its Fontana Distribution Center. The Warehouse Department Supervisor has general responsibility to participate in coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Warehouse Director, this position is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

Job Responsibilities
- Supervises shipping staff and ensures efficiency across entire shipping processes.
- Provides employee training, coaching and development.
- Provides hands-on leadership guidance when necessary.
- Monitors department performance through performance metrics.
- Ensures cartons are labeled properly and pallets are built to outlined specifications.
- Ensures compliance with safety codes, policies, and procedures according to Fungyun LLC and OSHA/CALOSHA regulations.
- Regularly audits quality of production to safeguard best shipping practices.
- Performs other duties as required.
Detailed Essential Duties
- Leads and schedules the receiving department employees.
- Coordinates loading with outbound drivers and loading crew and lumpers according to the shipping schedule.
- Verifies shipping documents are accurate and signed properly.
- Verifies during course of load that shippers tally sheet match with drivers count.
- Gathers and maintains all data and records relative to shipping.
- Verifies accuracy on shipping orders and shipping quantities matching picking documents
- Assists in resolving problems and discrepancies
- Provides assistance on special projects at the discretion of Warehouse Supervisor.
- Ensures security procedures are followed.
- Assign outbound seals to shippers once load is complete.
- Answers and routes all telephone calls in a polite manner, taking messages and routing to proper individual in a timely manner
- Responsible for Forklift pre inspection check list – compliance and record keeping
- Meeting established procedures and productivity, safety, and quality standards
- Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
- Supervises and assists employees in the day-to-day activities in the Distribution Center
- Screens, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for warehouse personnel
- Distribute workload to the team daily according to schedules
- Administers operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Analyzes or resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet deadlines
- Develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification, and retrieval
- Report to work on the required scheduled days/hours and overtime, as required
- Positive and proactive participation in all physical inventories
- Ensures daily activities and staffing requirements as planned are executed
- Works with staffing agencies when temporary workforce as needed
- Ensure staff is fully trained on assigned tasks and organize on-going cross training of employees.
- Track and control absence and overtime
- Assist the DC clerk with daily duties when needed
- Monitors inbound, outbound and inventory control operation progress and directs activities to complete daily task
- Holds daily start up meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensuring area housekeeping requirements are met
Safety & Security
- Conducts mandatory safety training sessions with warehouse personnel to maintain OSHA compliance.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment at all times.
- Ensure all employees operating forklifts are certified and employees wear safety gear as needed for performing tasks
- Ensure established policies and procedures are followed, inventory discrepancies, inventory shrinkages and any mishandling of company property
- Participate and lead safety meetings
- Proper use of company equipment and safety gear at all times in accordance with established company procedures
- Keeps clean, safe and organized work areas
Experience/Requirements
- 3 or more years of supervisor experience working in a high-volume distribution facility
- Must be able to effectively communicate and work with all levels of D.C. personnel
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work in multiple systems
- Ability to input and retrieve data are a must
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA)
- Experience in a distribution environment experience preferred
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goal of the warehouse
- Ability to respond to situations in a prompt and professional manner

- Ability to drive and/or operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to work specified shift; must be able to work weekend shifts.

Education/Training
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift Certification preferred.
- Valid state issued driver's license preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills
- Proficient knowledge of Warehouse Management System preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Google Suites, Spreadsheets and Docs
- Ability to enter numbers quickly using 10 key touch
- Knowledge of Blue Cherry Software/QuickBooks preferred
Physical/Environmental
- Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with frequent standing, walking and reaching.
- May require lifting to 50 lbs.
- Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a warehouse environment.
- Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools.
- Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to mount and dismount forklift through the duration of the shift which requires bending, stretching, stepping, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
