Job Summary:
The Logistics Clerk performs a variety of logistic tasks systematically to ensure the accuracy of shipping and receiving processes. This position verifies materials received are as ordered and preforms incoming inspection for accuracy. Prepares orders for shipment ensuring the items shipped match the items on customer order. Final line of inspections of finished goods before shipping to customer to ensure the product is labeled and neatly packaged. Process all shipping documents including customs documents. In addition, he or she will be responsible for any other tasks the Logistics Manager deems necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepare orders for shipping, completes appropriate paperwork and ensures accuracy of the information.
· Schedule trucks for both outbound and inbound shipments
· Organizes bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against customer orders to ensure that quantities and weights are correct.
· Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives and safety, environmental standards.
· Final inspections of finished goods packaging and labels before shipping.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Previous experience in shipping and receiving helpful.
· Ability to operate light equipment
· Knowledge of shipping methods and procedures a plus
· Ability to follow safety procedures
· Ability to adapt to changes in workday/schedule based upon current activity in plant.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
