Job Description
Under supervision and direction of the Roofing Supervisor, candidate will abate emergencies and adhere to scheduled roofing repairs throughout their assigned borough. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Prepare for PHAS (Public Housing Assessment System) inspections and correct deficiencies.
2. Respond to emergency roof repairs.
3. Perform the following roof related repairs: plug roof, cap flashing, gravel stop, replace/repair gutters, pitch pockets, roof drain, step nosing, window sills, lay slag, grade drain and metal works
and insulate pipes.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a roofer acquired within the last 15 years; or
2. Not less than three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a roofer acquired within the last ten years plus sufficient roofer's helper or apprentice experience or relevant education acquired in an approved trade or vocational high school to make up the equivalent of five years of acceptable experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of helper or apprenticeship experience or relevant education.
