Who we are:

In operation since 1994, the Cook Chill Production Center (CCPC) not only serves NYS Office of Mental Health facilities, but we also serve government facilities, private state facilities, and Not-For-Profit agencies. That’s approximately 15,000 pounds of food being delivered annually in refrigerated trucks from Buffalo to Long Island!

What we need from you:

Do you have one year of clerical experience? Perfect! OMH is looking for highly motivated and organized individuals who can work well independently and as part of a team. Multitasking, customer service, and adaptability skills are the tools of success for this creative work environment. As an Office Assistant 2, you will provide a full range of support services which guarantee the continued success of office productivity. We are filling multiple positions in various Albany locations; can we count on you to do the following?

  • Provide the full range of support services: copying, scanning, prepare correspondence, type from handwritten reports, charts, etc., correct and format draft documents using computer software as appropriate to assignment, proofread documents for grammatical and typographical errors.
  • Data entry including timesheet exceptions for employees, maintenance work orders, Cbord program for inventory, the Statewide Financial System (SFS) and additional entry as needed.
  • Receive, review, and distribute incoming mail. Review and distribute outgoing correspondence, making sure that appropriate protocols are followed.
  • Answer telephone calls and email inquiries related to program. Refer telephone calls to appropriate staff or supply appropriate information.
  • Review unit or departmental financial forms such as vouchers/invoices for conformance with approved spending.
  • Maintain accounts for a major account clerical function and processing activities.
  • Reconcile accounts with bank statements and control ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
  • Gather, compile, and prepare data from manual or automated files and other sources for various reports, publications, records, or other external or internal communications.
  • Resolve work problems.
  • Review forms and applications and make appropriate determinations.
  • Visitor Screening and issuing of building keys to contractors.
