What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Manager position at NYU?
The Administrative Manager provides principal management support for multiple NYU IT executive leaders and manages NYU IT’s contingent labor hiring program and purchasing operations. This position manages the activities of NYU IT executive leaders, and liaises with internal and external administrators and leadership for scheduling, communication, and problem solving. The Administrative Manager manages NYU IT’s contingent labor hiring program, supports managers in screening and selection of candidates, expedites review and approval, and ensures smooth onboarding and access to systems and tools. The Administrative Manager serves as an escalation point of contact between IT and Finance to reconcile errors and ensure accurate and timely payment. The Administrative Manager provides a variety of office management support including creating and maintaining reports and resources and developing NYU IT’s tech-focused community. The Administrative Manager must effectively take initiative and be able to act autonomously to identify unique problems and create solutions.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Project Management, or Finance
Required Experience:
5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience providing principal management support to executive leaders in a large and complex organization, including experience with event planning, purchasing, and supervising staff.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Strong writing and basic research skills. Ability to develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures and effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Good judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidence are essential. Appropriate level proficiency with word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications including the Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace apps.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $88,000.00.
