Position: Accounting Department Associate (Accounts Payable Specialist)

Location:  Laguna Hills, CA

Reports to:  Accounting Manager         

 

Purpose: This full position would be part of our accounting team in completing the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks of the accounting department. 40 hours per week plus overtime based on department needs. The position will be in house with the potential from remote 1 day per week depending on performance.

 

Compensation:  Hourly salary with overtime.

 

Experience:  Desired qualities on which the Accounting Department Associate will be evaluated include:

  • 2 to 5 years accounting experience.
  • Quickbooks Enterprise - Must have experience using and demonstrate proficiency within Quickbooks Enterprise.
  • Proficient with A/P, auditing, month end closing, reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word in both the Mac and Windows environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow up and excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent email and communication skills


Job Description: Accounting Associate (Accounts Payable Specialist)

 

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Accounts payable audit, research, entry & check processing
  • Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Check and ACH entry and bill pay.
  • Credit card and expense report receipt audit and entry.
  • Scanning A/P paid invoices and credit card receipts to Quickbooks.
  • Reconcile open invoices to monthly vendor statements.
  • Maintain tax ID records for use in preparing year-end 1099 statements.
  • Apply payments to customer accounts, batching deposits, process refunds, and invoices for balance due.
  • Assist with keeping department organized as directed by Accounting Manager or CFO
  • Assist accounting manager and CFO with duties as assigned to complete department goals.
  • This position for the right candidate will grow into other aspect of the accounting function based on the candidates performance.
