Job Description
The Combustion Engineer position fits an individual desiring to develop and grow within the furnace and engineering side of operations. Partnering with management to produce glass containers and continuously improving levels of quality and efficiency.
The Combustion Engineer should have:
- Exposure to managing and leading people
- Experience making recommendations concerning methods, procedures, personnel and equipment
- The ability to learn quickly, rapidly building and developing skill sets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
The Combustion Engineer will:
- Direct activities of the hourly workforce and furnace maintenance personnel
- Maintain and troubleshoot furnace operations and maintenance activities
- Analyze data, prepare reports, take corrective actions and make recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Ceramic, Chemical, Materials Science or related Engineering field preferred
- Leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills
- Manufacturing experience or related field experience desired
- Furnace operations and/or furnace design experience is highly desired
- Ability to travel for training, plant visits and networking
What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $63,000 and $80,000, with an annual short term incentive target of 12%. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
