Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage and consolidate the sales lead, vetting prospects and driving the conversion process from “prospect” to “customer” when there is a need and a good fit. Leads are generated from website traffic, trade show contacts, switch board calls, advertising efforts and referrals.
- Maintain consistent contact with customers and prospects to grow, maintain, and manage assigned accounts.
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and manage ongoing customer projects.
- Receive and process customer purchase orders.
- Monthly analysis of inventories ordered to meet O-I’s inventory objectives.
- Design strategies and proposals to accelerate inventory movement.
- Quote and negotiate prices and contracts to include company and/or industry price increases.
- Use pending orders, sales history, inventory levels, and customer input to develop precise forecasts.
- Communicate significant customer information working effectively with Logistics, Supply Chain, Credit, Marketing and Sales Service.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Two (2) years of industry or comparable experience.
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to work independently without supervision, but also work well with the team and other departments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC skills and ease of working with systems, with an emphasis on CRM platforms, Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint and SAP.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
