What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Clerk position at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel?
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Opens as necessary, inspects for damage, and checks quantities received against Purchase Orders, assuring shortages are indicated on shipping papers and overages are returned to vendor.
- Adds all received deliveries into inventory or deliveries as direct ship to department storage.
- Determines most economical and quickest shipping method, and affixes proper labeling to items sent. Packs as required and maintains a log for all mail and shipments received that require special handling into the receiver’s hands.
- Coordinates damage claims, corresponding with shipper to rectify shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- May operate Pallet Jack as necessary, works with Inventory Specialist to store, track and label F&B orders.
- Clerk will drive pickup as necessary to pick up emergency items required to continue company operations, according to schedule of work assignments.
- Distributes mail daily into departmental slots in mailroom and keeps room neat and orderly.
- May be asked to operate a company vehicle and/or equipment that requires a valid Driver’s License.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager in fulfillment of the Material Management mission.
- Warehouse clerk will clean and keep warehouse inventory and working areas organized.
- Warehouse clerk will rotate and perishable items to ensure nearest to expiration is picked first.
- Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Computer skills (used to track orders, verifying back orders, and accessing Purchase Order index).
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
