Oak Grove Technologies is seeking an Exercise Planner (Theater Exercise Coordination/Joint Exercise Planning) at Marine Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii. Additionally, the right candidate may serve in duties within exercise execution to include Senior Marine Controller, Request for Information (RFI) Manager, and Assistant Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Manager to name a few. The MARFORPAC staff and select portions of the MEF/MSCs are direct training beneficiaries of this task as they are the target training audience for the exercises. Responsibilities
- Provide assigned exercise information as required in support of daily information requirements driven by internal or external requests for information.
- Maintain assigned exercise level of effort and product development to ensure there are no missed milestones within the established Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).
- Develop recommendations regarding the design of Joint and Service exercises in order to maximize the impact of the event in the training continuum of MARFORPAC and its subordinate commands in support of OPLAN based critical tasks.
- Provide recommendations in the development of exercise scenarios that enable the terminal training objectives to be achieved in the most unencumbered format to maximize the training value of the event.
- Prepare information briefs as required related to the assigned exercise in order to maintain the command informed of the exercise status and key friction points if any.
- Provide technical assistance in the execution of joint and combined training and exercise events, interoperability workshops, tabletop exercises, and senior leader seminars.
- Conduct Exercise Event Evaluations - Assess exercise events through observation and develop recommendations for sustained future operations. Conduct evaluation of designated activities during joint and combined training and exercise events, interoperability workshops, tabletop exercises, and senior leader seminars. Arrange and facilitate After-Action Review (AAR) and lessons learned meetings to review event support and associated deliverables following the conclusion of each supported event. (Deliverable: Develop and support exercise AAR)
- Over 10 years of experience and a MA/MS degree. (12 years' work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree. Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years' work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.)
- Ability to work on high visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
- U.S. Citizen
- Thorough understanding of Marine Corps Planning Process and the Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation (RPIE) public planning process.
- Thorough understanding of C2IE, a DoD system of record for strategic OAI management.
- In-depth knowledge of operational planning, communication synchronization, service and joint doctrine, and Marine Corps componency issues.
- Advanced proficiency with using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Teams, Words, Power Point.
- Favorably adjudicated TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Must be able to travel.
- Prior Service as an active duty Marine or with a Sister Service
- Career Level School and Command and Staff College Graduate preferred
