Role Description

At Oak Street, Population Health drives both our clinical and economic model and is focused on delivering high-quality, cost-effective care.

Members of the team leverage Oak Street’s growing data to develop and optimize interventions in collaboration with clinicians and subject matter experts. This role will also support complex analyses of medical costs and health indicators, including supporting program evaluation.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be an effective communicator and be committed to the Oak Street mission.

Responsibilities

Predictive Analytics

  • Support deployed Machine Learning models and evaluate their performance

  • Translate guidance from clinical and business leaders into feature engineering to improve performance of predictive models and develop new models

  • Partner with internal teams, including Business Intelligence & application developers, to operationalize predictions

Program Evaluation

  • Complete analyses to support evaluation of key care model programs and interventions

  • Maintain clear, organized documentation of analyses

  • Support communication of findings through the development of charts, visualizations and written summaries

Medical Cost Analyses

  • Support business and medical leaders with analyses of medical claims data to inform decision making

  • Work across insurance company membership files, medical claims datasets and electronic medical records to identify opportunities for improved health and business outcomes

  • Provides other ad hoc analyses as needed

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for motivated, entrepreneurial individuals with:

  • 1-3 years experience with R or Python

  • Experience with Excel, SQL, and relational databases preferred

  • Familiarity with healthcare data preferred

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfort with big data sets, from varying sources, including medical claims

  • An ability to independently pursue and implement solutions to complex problems

  • Interest in innovation

  • US work authorization
