Employment Specialist Weekend/Float Part Time

Job Summary:

An On-the-job Employment Specialist performs a variety of responsibilities that support individuals at their job to ensure long term employment and independence. We provide one-on-one direct support to individuals with disabilities to help keep employment. At Oak Tree, we are committed to paving the way for our clients by removing barriers and supporting them to achieve self-reliance through employment. This includes providing 1:1 direct support for our clients during entire shifts, or spot-checking progress throughout a shift. All support is person centered and varies based on the client and employer. 

This is a part time position that requires weekend availability (including some Friday’s) and occasional weekday coverage as needed. You will need to travel to and from job sites throughout the twin cities metro area.

Compensation:

This position is currently being hired at the rate of $19 dollars per hour. This is a part time position with an average of 15-20 hours per week.   Most mileage is reimbursed at $.625 per mile. Time will be primarily spent on the job with clients at various employers. Time will also be spent entering case notes describing the support you provide while on the job. The schedule may vary and requires a lot of flexibility within the weekends. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• The ability to complete all new employee training within an adequate timeframe
• Completion of accurate case notes documenting work completed within the required timeframe
• On the job support duties can include:

• Shadowing the client and providing prompts when needed to successfully complete a shift
• Assisting with the onboarding process for a new job
• Transporting clients to and from work
• Providing tools to help clients on the job such as check list, setting reminders on their phones, queuing for lunch breaks, etc.
• Helping clients navigate social interactions with other employees and their managers as needed
• Working with employers to secure reasonable accommodations when needed
• Setting up apps and assisting with schedules, time off, pay, and training as needed
• Growing the level of independence of the client on the job and phasing out support where appropriate

• Continuous education on employment support services tasks and skills
• Transportation for clients as needed within the scope of employment services
• Completion of and adherence to Key Performance Indicators noted weekly in client database 
• Adherence to all policies and procedures within the division

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
• At least two years' related experience preferred but not required
