Overview
This position is committed to providing World Class Service for all Pan American Center events. The Event Security position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security for all events. Special security assignments may be available during non-event days/nights. The security team is a provider of direct service to our guests and must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.00.

About the Venue
Pan American Center is multi-purpose arena in Las Cruces, New Mexico, located on the campus of New Mexico State University. The arena has a current seating capacity of 12,515 people. The arena serves as home of the New Mexico State Aggies Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Woman’s Volleyball Teams.
Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for assistance from staff Pan American Staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)
- Performs all event and non-event security duties as assigned
- Conducts building safety inspections (Normally pre-event and post event safety checks)
- Admits building staff, suppliers, contractors, visitors, and guests to the facility according to established security procedures.
- Answers information requests from staff and guests during events or as needed.
- Protects Arena equipment, materials, and structures throughout the work schedule.
- Provides regular security functions within the Arena and related areas, prior to, during and after all events.
- Responsible for clean, neat appearance with complete Pan American Security Uniform.
- Receives, records, and returns all lost and found items according to established team procedures.
- When requested, provide escorts of persons to and from locations within the Pan American Center facility
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Event Operations Managers, and General Manager
Qualifications
- Prior security experience preferred, but not required.
- Able to work Pan American Center events
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- Ability to work beyond traditional business hours, including nights, weekends and select holidays, is required
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Must have earned or can earn valid CPR certification
- Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
