What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Oakpoint?
The Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of Oakpoint. The Dental Assistant II is also responsible for sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
Compensation:$19 - $24 hourly
Responsibilities:- Schedule appointments for patient care follow up, answer any questions they may have about dental hygiene, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patients’ teeth and gums, after procedures
- Evaluate and document vital signs for patients and update medical records
- Ensure dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
- Get treatment rooms ready for for examination and procedures by equipping them with necessary sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials
- Help dentists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off dental instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma
- DA I certificate
- Xray Certification
