TRAVEL: Estimated at 5%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, and/or Computer Science field
• 5 years of experience developing computer code and software
• PREFER Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science

• PREFER 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
• PREFER IAM/IAT/IASAE Certification
• Security clearance at the Secret level

SECURITY CLEARANCE:  Secret, and U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants

EDUCATION: REQUIRE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, and/or Computer Science field

PREFER Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science

CERTIFICATIONS: IAM/IAT/IASAE Certification

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

REQUIRE 5 years of experience developing computer code and software

PREFER 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 

Prefer:

• Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science
• 10 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks

Desired:

• 5 years of experience directly related to software development of autonomous systems

• 1 year of experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Senior Software Developer shall be responsible for:

• Researching, designing, developing, and testing computer hardware and software programs.
• Supervising the manufacturing and installation of computers and computer-related equipment.

• Developing new computer software systems and incorporating new technologies in a rapidly growing range of applications.
• Applying the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications.
• Analyzing users’ needs to design, construct, test, and maintain computer applications software or systems.
• May be involved in the design and development of many types of software, including software for operating systems and network distribution, and compilers, which convert programs for execution on a computer.
• Developing algorithms and analyzing and solving programming problems than with actually writing code. The programming languages most often used are C, C , and Java, with Fortran and COBOL used less commonly.
