What we are looking for
As a Safety Coordinator at Oats Overnight, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining programs to ensure all food and safety standards and regulations are met. As a safety champion, your role will involve assessing potential hazards, developing safety policies and procedures, conducting training sessions and monitoring compliance in our manufacturing/production environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Safety Coordinator at Oats Overnight, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining programs to ensure all food and safety standards and regulations are met. As a safety champion, your role will involve assessing potential hazards, developing safety policies and procedures, conducting training sessions and monitoring compliance in our manufacturing/production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management to develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and risks associated with equipment, processes, and work areas
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees; ensure new hires receive proper safety orientation and conduct ongoing training for existing employees
- Regularly inspect the facility, equipment, and work areas to identify potential safety hazards and/or non-compliance with food and safety standards
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine the root causes and implement preventative measures
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive behavior among employees; communicate safety-related information, updates, and reminders
- Partner with HR team on coordination of Workers Compensation requirements and activities
- All other duties as assigned

Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s) or other related education preferred
- 3-5 years of applicable job experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead others through influence
- Computer proficiency with MS Office
- Razor-sharp problem-solving skills
- Able to systematize and churn through a large volume of information and responsibilities
- Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities
- Able to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles
- Adept at making assessments quickly and identifying the best course of action
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
