The Ocean Community YMCA, with locations in RI and CT, now has an opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator / Development Assistant.
This is a part-time, 20hour per week position. The Volunteer Coordinator / Development Assistant will : Assist with recruitment, training, and management of volunteers for various programs and events.
Foster a positive and engaging volunteer experience assuring alignment with the YMCA mission. Work with the Director of Annual Giving in planning and executing fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.
Collaborate with Development Team to cultivate and steward donor relationships. Draft compelling content for newsletters, social media, and other communication channels to promote volunteer opportunities and fundraising efforts.
Engage with the community to build awareness and support for YMCA programs and initiatives. Maintain accurate and up to date records of volunteer information, hours, and contributions.
Assist with managing donor databases ensuring confidentiality and integrity of donor information. Support logistics for fundraising events including coordinating volunteers, managing timelines, and overseeing event details.
Qualifications include : Previous experience in volunteer coordination, development or related role preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with database management.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks. Enthusiasm about community engagement and fundraising with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. CPR / AED / FA / Emergency O2 Administration Certification required-American RedCross or equivalent-YMCA will train.
