Scope of Position
The painter’s primary function is to perform skilled painting work. Preparing walls, patching, finishing, and maintaining the surfaces to complete the painting job. Utilizing brushes, spray guns, rollers, amongst other tools. This includes mixing paint, applying paint, varnishes, and sealants to any type of surface.
Hourly Staff Schedule Requirements
All employees are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday through Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays. All seasonal staff must be aware and able to work all weekends; requesting time off for a holiday weekend may not and will likely not be granted. The more flexible you are the more you can learn, grow, earn.
Reporting Relationship
Internal: The painter reports to the Director of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities

- Complete required reports, logs and paperwork as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain room number confidentiality of guests.
- Respond to engineering and maintenance paint related requests, drywall repairs, furniture touch up, and light carpentry repair.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance, cleaning, and periodic servicing of painting equipment in a safe manner as directed by supervisor.
- Maintaining adequate minimum inventory as directed by supervisor.
- Perform evaluations of related drywall repair and paint issues, determine appropriate course of action and product to perform the repairs while conforming to time restraints.
- Responsible for practicing, managing, and promoting the Company’s Statement of Purpose, Service Excellence Pillars, and Declarations so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.
- Represent the Company with a positive attitude and professional presentation.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to the Company’s sustainability programs.
- Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.
- Responsible for the physical setup and execution of painting on scaffolding and ladders.
- This position is for both interior and exterior projects.
Required Job Knowledge Skills, Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Working knowledge of different types of paints, preparations, their applications, as well as asset protection during the duration of the repair.
- Knowledge of all tools and equipment respective to job function of painting and finishes.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling, MSDS, PPE’s and proper disposal practices.
- Being a team player, while often working alone, there are also occasions when working with others is essential to completing the task.
- Punctuality and reliability cannot be stressed enough.
- Previous hotel or public occupied space experience preferred.
- Excellent diagnostics and problem-solving skills are an asset.
- Fluency in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, cleanliness, and accuracy in a timely manner.
