Position Summary
The Warehouse Clerk will be responsible for greeting visitors, answering incoming calls, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the warehouse office.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
- Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Welcome visitors to the warehouse facility in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond to inquiries from customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
- Maintain an orderly workspace to Pack, unpack, stock, and inventory all items within your department responsibility.
- Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Properly create and maintain all shipping data; determine shipping method.
- Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck and sorting bins.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient communication and operations.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent related work experience.
- Six (6) months to one-year (1) related clerical experience.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and has the willingness to undertake new & challenging assignments.
- The employee will be required to always wear PPE.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
DESIRED
- One (1) to Two (2) years’ experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
- PeopleSoft system is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
- Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service and personal services.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
- Treats others fairly and with respect.
- Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, and values, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.
