Behavioral Health Administrative Assistant

Our Mental Health Agency has an immediate need for an experienced Behavioral Health Administrative Assistant who is familiar with medical office workflows and able to work with insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid and other financial operations.

Our patients receive care in Outpatient Counseling, Psychiatry and Neuropsychology working with the elderly, adults, youth, and young adults.

We file insurance claims on behalf of our patients.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate and naturally helpful, willing to work a problem to its successful conclusion.

Previous experience in medical office operations is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide quality and professional customer service consistent with the agency's organizational values, standards, practices, and policies

Have working knowledge of insurance and verification for authorization of treatment

Demonstrate ability to be an active team member while managing patient care

Maintain departmental referral lists Triage patient calls and manage incoming and outgoing patient and provider phone calls Maintain office workflows and patient access (phone, scheduling) Maintain schedule capacity to ensure that the Department's productivity expectation is met Complete timely, professionally written, documentation and maintain insurance verification documentation Attend and actively participate in clinic staff meetings and in-service training session(s).


Clinical skills

Ability to work with an Electronic Health Record system

Obtain lab results as ordered by provider

Maintain Maine PMP documentation

Coordinate and work in concert with Clinical Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner, Neuropsychologists, Psychometricians as well as administrative staff in meeting our patient's and families needs


EDUCATION:

College degree - preferred

EXPERIENCE:

2-3 years of experience as an administrative assistant Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)

Working knowledge of Insurance and Benefits
