We are in search of a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team.
The primary role will be to proactively oversee and manage our construction company’s procurement needs. Responsibilities include researching new suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring all purchased products and materials meet our specs, comparing quotes, and negotiating with vendors as needed. This position will also support our team in preparing bid packages as well as coordinating and ensuring compliance of all subcontracts. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, has a solid understanding of residential construction, and has a strong background in managing construction projects. Ultimately you will work with leaders in our organization to understand the needs of our company and ensure we achieve our supply goals in a manner that supports our settlement deadlines.
Compensation:$75,000
Responsibilities:- Prepare proposals, request and compare quotes, negotiate purchase terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
- Match Purchase Orders with the product received; Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchase items and resolve shortcomings
- Developing inventory controls to identify demand for new materials
- Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development of the implementation of sourcing strategies
- Coordinate with vendors to guarantee terms of contracts are fulfilled in compliance with the terms and regulations
- Handle breach of contracts in a timely manner
- Assist in the processing of bid packages
- Prepare and issue subcontracts, ensuring contracts are in place for all subs before any field work begins
- Maintain required copies of all subcontractor insurance certificates
- 2 years’ prior experience in construction-related project management, business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and with business app software, purchasing, and resource planning systems
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred
