9-1-1 Dispatcher
Oconto County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for full-time 9-1-1 dispatchers to fill current openings. Responsibilities include monitoring and operating communication equipment to process 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire and rescue services.
The Sheriff’s Office is a 24/7 operation so candidates must be able to work a 12 hour flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. The ability to multi-task and work in stressful situations a must.
Qualified applicants will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have strong keyboarding skills for data entry as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Clerical experience in an emergency medical, police or fire protection fields preferred. Candidates who have completed the class “Fundamentals of Emergency Dispatch” will be given priority consideration.
Starting wage is $22.27/hr and includes an excellent benefit package and state retirement plan.
