What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPING AND RECEIVING SUPERVISOR position at ODAWA CASINO RESORT?
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the management of shipping, receiving, warehousing functions, inventories, fixed assets, and department budget, to meet company objectives for a wide variety of material and service requirements in a cost effective and timely manner.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Enforces department policies, procedures and processes, including but not limited to, shipping and receiving, warehousing and inventory, general liability, and creative solutions to meet business needs while respecting and complying with LTBB statutes, applicable federal, state, and local laws, and company service standards and policies.
Recommends the hiring, terminating, promoting, demoting, transfer, training opportunities; recommends merit increases, evaluates performance, creates and adjusts performance standards, creates and/or delegates staff scheduling, invokes disciplinary action and provides for the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.
Assists in the establishment and management of department budgets.
Ensures cost effective and timely delivery of items purchased.
Demonstrates the highest standard of integrity and ethics in all instances.
Plans, directs, motivates, schedules, assigns, and evaluates the work of personnel in warehousing functions such as the receipt, storage, transfer, issuance, inventory, and delivery of supplies and equipment.
Coordinates and supervises the storage/retention of confidential documents in the warehouse area.
Coordinates and supervises the shredding of various documents as required.
Assists in safeguarding company assets by managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and packages.
Assists in the management of recycled and surplus materials in accordance with LTBB mandated recycling program and Odawa Casino Resort Accounting policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with all appropriate Tribal, federal, state and local laws and Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) regulations, as applicable.
Assists in the management of company fixed assets with Accounting Team through utilization of approved processes and procedures.
Assures forklift certification training is provided.
Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School diploma or equivalent, college coursework concentrated in specific area, with three to five (3-5) years’ experience in warehouse and shipping & receiving operations, and one to two (1-2) years supervisory experience in the same.
Must pass a pre-employment physical.
Must have a valid driver’s license with five (5) points or less.
Excellent driving record. Must be insurable.
Forklift certification must be obtained within thirty days of hire.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent communicator and negotiator; and be able to carry out financial analyses.
Excellent organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Must be proficient in email, Internet, and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of warehousing, vehicle, and recycling safety practices.
Ability to perform heavy physical labor under all types of outdoor weather conditions as well as all work environment conditions.
Able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal, training and education requirements.
Must be flexible with shift and days off.
Frequent travel from building to building and local in-town travel required.
Must be able to obtain a Key gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
